Fenrir outfit colour test
I prefer 1 even though its more a dark red however it does act as a better black then plan black does as you can see on number 3 although having a black top to his head gear doesn't look to bad. number 5 was a combination of 4 and 1 since I liked those the best~
@ Phil Revised Introduction
This assignment discusses Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge (2001) with precise
reference to Roland Barthes ideas expressed in his theoretical essay on The
Death of the Author (1967).
References to books like Copyright and the death of the Author in
literature and law (The Modern Law Review) (1994) written by Lionel Bentley is
reviewed for the authors insight on where Barthes theory spawned from. Roland Barthes essay will help to understand how The
death of the Author (1967) relates to Moulin Rouge. The essay on Intertexuality:
The Waste Land-Eliot (2011) written by
Bianca Knight will aid in recognising how clichés and the term mash up all
relate to each other and to Barthes theory.
The discussion begins by defining postmodernism, then how postmodernism
can be related to intertexuality; Followed by a brief definition of intertexuality
and its sub categories cliché and the term mash-up.
The essay then goes into Roland Barthes theory of The Death of the
Author(1967), its meaning, and how it can be connected to the movie Moulin
Rouge (2001).
Is this a better revision?
@ Phil Essay Introduction
This is the first draft of my introduction:
Introduction
Post modernism is a highly disputed term with many subjects which can
be analysed from either a philosophical, cultural or artistic point of view amongst
others. This essay will cover how the theory of “The death of the author”
(1997), by Roland Barthes, can be applied to the movie Moulin Rouge (2001)
directed by Baz Luhrmann.
According to Barthes “Death of
the author” occurs when the creator’s original message is lost after its production,
which means it is impossible to find the original meaning as viewers are
allowed to interpret and re write the piece in a different way other than
intended. However Barthes does not think of it as a hindrance more a step
forward to allow other ideas to be born from it. ”the birth of the reader must
be at the cost of the death of the Author.” (Barthes 1977: p4)
This essay will also examine how
intertexuality, cliché
and the term mash-up is linked to “The death of the author” and how that in turn
is linked to “Moulin Rouge” (2001)
Would you say that this is heading in the right direction?
